Join Ars Poetica as we become more than just a zero waste company: create a positive environmental impact

For two years, we called this project “One Tree :: One Poem” to symbolize the connection between each poem we wrote helping us plant one tree. However, we realized that this framing failed to communicate the enormity of the need for reforestation of earth, and didn’t give us a goal to work toward together. Basically: no one cared.

But the climate crisis is worsening, and we can’t afford to not care, and we can’t give up.

That’s why in September 2021 we are officially launched our Million Poems + Million Trees by 2030 campaign. Help us plant a Poet’s Forest and heal fragile ecosystems by hiring Ars Poetica poets to perform at your online or IRL event today.

In addition to this campaign, we also currently:

  • utilize only Eco-White and sustainable Savoy Cotton paper from Paper Source for all our poems,

  • purchase carbon offsets for all air travel,

  • have eliminated all single-use plastics from our operations and events.

  • partner with the Arbor Day Foundation to track the number of poems we write at all events worldwide, and underwrite the cost of planting a new tree for each and every poem.

EVERY GUEST AT YOUR EVENT WILL KNOW THAT THEIR DELIGHT IS ALSO CONTRIBUTING TO A HEALTHIER PLANET.

Is your company built on sustainability and a vision for a thriving planet as well? Are you eco-conscious event planners or a green wedding venue? Let’s talk about how we can join forces to guarantee our planet’s habitable future.

Want to make an immediate impact?

While booking poets for an event is the most direct way to make the largest environmental impact with us, for a donation of $5 or more, you can plant a tree and get a poem of your own emailed right to you or someone you love. We pay our poets for the time and talent that goes into each poem, in addition to the cost of planting each tree. Your contribution is going directly to supporting our artists and reforestation efforts.

We recently went viral on TikTok! It’s all very exciting and we appreciate the love so much - it does also mean that we got a LOT of poem requests very quickly, so we appreciate your patience as we work through them all.

Since October 2019, Ars Poetica poets have written over 9000 poems around the world, meaning donations of over $9,000 to plant trees in the Amazon, Australia, Appalachia, and California. Now, we focus our contributions to three specific ecosystems:

Appalachia (Kentucky) - Reclaiming abandoned coal mines and restoring forest cover is a way to heal not only ecosystems but impoverished and isolated human communities.

The Andes Mountains (Argentina) - The large-scale restoration initiative known as Acción Andina is focused on replanting the vital ecosystem of the world’s largest continental mountain range.

Nepal - The Chitwan National Park is home to over 700 species of wildlife, including the endangered Bengal tiger.

The Poet’s Forest:

A Poetic Solution for a Pragmatic Problem

Our ultimate goal is to be able to buy land in an abandoned coal mining area in Kentucky’s Appalachian region, reforest it, and turn it into a fully self-sustaining eco resort and year round creative community dedicated to supporting the minds and makers who will help us turn the tide of the climate crisis once and for all.

It will take many years of committed work, across innovative industries, but we believe we can start here and now, with The Poet’s Forest, to create a scalable model of regenerative, carbon-sequestering living for all citizens of the world, right in the center of the USA.
